About Us
Blueprints for Pangea's mission is to address medical deficiencies globally. While much of our focus is on the physical aspects of health, we believe it's equally important to support mental health resources. We already redistribute physical medical supplies from areas of abundance to those in need, so why not extend that support to health as well? That is the aim of this project. In tackling shortages of physical health products, we distribute items like syringes, masks, etc. However, when it comes to mental health resources, the best way to assist underserved communities is through education. There is no tangible product that can resolve mental health issues, so providing information about available local resources is our most effective approach. For this project, we plan to share information about mental health resources in two complementary ways. First, we created a comprehensive digital resource guide to the mental health services available in each county. Secondly, we distilled the information from the guide into concise brochures that can be easily distributed — focusing on “low-cost” or free resources to ensure accessibility for the widest audience. Through these methods, we believe we effectively promote awareness of affordable mental health resources within each county.
Blueprints For Pangea's Story
Blueprints for Pangaea is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing sustainable solutions to inefficient healthcare resource distribution. Every year, our national healthcare system throws away six million tons of unused, usable medical supplies. Around the world, millions suffer due to a lack of these very same supplies. Blueprints for Pangaea aims to reallocate excess supplies from hospitals in the United States to hospitals in need around the world. With the help of partnerships with medical suppliers/distributors and hospitals, we have created a sustainable and scalable model, allowing us to minimize domestic inefficiency while mobilizing accessible healthcare in emerging communities.
Meet the Team

Sid Varman: Founder & Director
Sid Varman is the founder of the Wellness Within Reach Project, an initiative he launched during his junior year while serving as president of the Ohio State chapter of Blueprints For Pangaea. Growing up in a community where mental health was often overlooked, Sid recognized early on how stigma and lack of education can prevent people from seeking the help they need. Through his project, he works to bridge this gap by creating accessible educational materials and distributing them to underserved populations across the country. The Wellness Within Reach Project reflects Sid’s deep commitment to advancing health equity—particularly in the realm of mental well-being. Looking ahead, he aspires to become a practicing physician who not only provides compassionate clinical care but also drives systemic change to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, has the resources and knowledge to care for their health.

Fatima Haque: Co-President
Fatima Haque is the current Co-President of the Ohio State chapter of Blueprints For Pangaea and one of the founding members of the Wellness Within Reach Project. With a deep-rooted passion for mental health advocacy, Fatima has been instrumental in shaping the initiative's mission to make emotional wellness education more accessible to underserved communities. In addition to her work on the project, she serves as a Wellness Ambassador, helping peers better understand and navigate their mental health journeys. Her leadership reflects a commitment to equity in all forms, particularly in healthcare, and a belief that everyone deserves the tools to care for both their physical and emotional well-being. Fatima aspires to become a physician who not only delivers compassionate clinical care but also works to dismantle systemic barriers to access, ensuring that every individual, regardless of background, feels seen, heard, and supported.

Parthiv Medidi: Co-President
Parthiv Medidi is a current Co-President on the executive board for Blueprints For Pangaea and has played a key role in the development and growth of national impact of the Wellness Within Reach Project. As a strong believer in mental health education being accessible independent of geographical location, Parthiv helped develop the model and scale the reach of the initiative by building connections and supporting implementation efforts across the nation by bringing Wellness Within Reach to other countries. Beyond Ohio, his work has been critical to the creation of culturally responsive, accessible mental health resources for underserved communities. Parthiv is passionate about equity in all forms of care and seeks to build systems that bring health education directly to those who need it most, ensuring they feel seen.

Cody Casanova
Cody Casanova serves as the Director of Hospital Outreach for the Ohio State chapter of Blueprints For Pangaea, where he plays a key role in establishing supply redistribution partnerships with local clinics, hospitals, and manufacturers. Stepping into this role during a time of transition, he rebuilt the organization’s supply network from the ground up after its primary donor discontinued their program. Over the course of his leadership, he helped facilitate the redistribution of tens of thousands of dollars worth of medical supplies, ensuring that life-saving materials reached communities in need rather than ending up in landfills. His experience demonstrates his emphasis on health equity and helped broaden his view of medicine as not only clinical but systemic—a field where quiet, behind-the-scenes work can drive meaningful change. Moving forward, he aims to bring this systems-oriented mindset into his career as a physician, championing resource stewardship, sustainable care delivery, and embodying the spirit of taking initiative for others.
Tyler Darby
Tyler Darby is a second-year biology major at The Ohio State University with an additional interest in medicine. Through his work with Blueprints for Pangaea as treasurer and other organizations, Tyler seeks to improve healthcare equity and sustainability, along with increasing awareness for stigmatized issues, such as mental health. In the future, he hopes to pursue a career in medicine as a practicing physician who contributes to the betterment of the aforementioned issues.
George Jacob
George Jacob is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned his B.S. in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences with a minor in Biology. He previously worked as a medical assistant at ProMedica Physicians Group and as an emergency department scribe, where he gained firsthand insight into both outpatient coordination and acute care teamwork. These dual roles deepened his understanding of patient-centered care and the human dimensions of medicine. At Ohio State, he served as the Director of Marketing for Blueprints for Pangea, a student-run nonprofit focused on global medical equity. As one of the primary creators of the organization’s Wellness Within Reach website, he helped expand access to free and low-cost mental health resources. George remains driven by a commitment to service, education, and empowering patients through empathy and equity.

Kaitlyn Fields
As secretary of Ohio State’s chapter of Blueprints For Pangaea, Kaitlyn Fields has played a large role in the club’s mission of promoting accessible healthcare by redistributing unused medical supplies to communities in need. Recognizing the gap in access, she took the initiative to build lasting relationships with healthcare providers and hospitals to secure donations that would have otherwise gone to waste.

Ashika Batchu
Ashika Batchu serves as the current Co-Director of Marketing and Events for the Ohio State chapter of Blueprints For Pangaea. She became involved with the Wellness Within Reach Project during her time on the team last year, where she collaborated with a student at Georgia Tech to create and distribute a mental health guide for the underserved communities in Fulton County, Georgia. With a strong interest in the intersection of mental health and neurological disease, she is particularly passionate about the mental impacts of neurodegenerative conditions like dementia. Her involvement in this project highlights her commitment to making mental health education and services more accessible for all populations. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in neurology, where she can support patients and families navigating the challenges of both brain and mental health with compassion and advocacy.

Celia Gannon
Celia Gannon is the current Co-Director of Marketing and Events in the Ohio State Blueprints For Pangaea organization. She is a second-year health science student with a minor in developmental psychology. Celia worked with a student from the University of Michigan to expand the Wellness Within Reach Project to help provide mental healthcare access to any resident of Washtenaw County no matter their background. With an interest in child development, Celia hopes to work as a physician’s assistant in pediatrics. She seeks to further this club’s mission of providing access to medical resources through her work with the executive board.
